The weather was unremarkable, which is perhaps why I remember it.
Nothing happened. The sky stayed grey. A bus arrived late. Someone laughed in a shop doorway. Yet the day seemed to contain the faint outline of another day from twenty years earlier.
Memory rarely announces itself. More often, it slips in disguised as weather.
